International destination of choice 2024

Manchester is continuing to prove its success globally in 2024, as the city gains a host of new destination of choice accolades by several travel, tourism and cultural publications.

Not only did Manchester rank in the top 10 for Time Out's Best Places to Visit in the UK in 2024, but the area of Spinningfields was also named one of the Best Places to Go in the UK and Ireland in 2024 by CondΓ© Nast Traveller. This follows the news of further development within the area of a new food hall, Shipyard, as well as an exciting 2024 programme from the newly opened Aviva Studios.

🎨 Named the 'creative capital' of the UK by Adobe

✈️ Named as 13th of 25 global destinations included in the 'Where to Go 2024' list by US travel publication, AFAR

πŸ™οΈ Ranked at 72 in the World's Best Cities 2024 list

Beyond these accolades, the city has gained a huge array of awards for its food and drink offerings. Most notably, two mancunian restaurants- Higher Ground and Mana- made The Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards Top 100. The Edinburgh Castle, in Ancoats, placed 24th on The Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs list. A further two Manchester restaurants gained recognition in Time Out's 16 of the best restaurants in the UK, with Erst 3rd on the list and Where The Light Gets In at 8th. The Good Food Awards 2023/2024 also saw Platzki Manchester become a Blue Ribbon winner.
