Manchester Central to be ‘Out of this World’ at Confex
Published at 11:25 on 4th of February 2011
Manchester Central is fast becoming known for its original and exciting stand entertainment during International Confex, and although they are keeping their plans close to their chest, this year the Convention Complex is promising an experience that will be ‘out of this world’.
Manchester Central’s Sales Director, Paula Lorimer, said; “Confex is THE trade event for the conference and events industry and Manchester Central always likes to make an impact. This year we will have a bigger presence than ever before as we prepare to relaunch the venue following a £30million redevelopment programme. We will also be using the occasion to celebrate Manchester Central’s forthcoming 25th anniversary, in March this year.”
The venue has enjoyed a varied and successful history over the past 25 years, but now the team at Manchester Central is very much looking to the future as it continues to enjoy increasing success, particularly in the national and international associations market.
Paula added; “Manchester Central’s business focus has changed significantly over recent years. We are now recognised nationally and internationally as a leading venue for association business, as well as the corporate and exhibition market, which remain part of our wider business mix. The associations market is a key focus for us now and our new and extended facilities - as a result of the £30 million redevelopment - has further increased Manchester Central’s appeal in the UK and internationally.”
Overall, the redevelopment programme has increased the venue’s client facing space. The building work has included the addition of two foyers, including the vast Central Foyer, and a 2,000m2 extension of flexible, client-facing space that can accommodate up to 800 delegates.
Paula added; “We look forward to seeing everyone at Confex and we hope that they will join us on our stand when we will reveal Manchester Central’s ‘theme’ for 2011, which promises to be a very exciting year for us.”
Manchester Central’s stand entertainment will be taking place at the Manchester stand (No B430) on Tuesday 1 March from 3pm to 5pm. Visitors are invited to join the team for champagne, canapés, giveaways and entertainment that will be ‘out of this world’…
