Accessibility
Manchester Central’s facilities have been designed to maximise accessibility for all delegates and organisers. The majority of exhibition spaces at Manchester Central are on the ground floor, accessed directly from street level. All first floor facilities can be reached by lift and stairs.
As part of its commitment to making the venue as accessible as possible, Manchester Central has recently undertaken a number of improvements:
- A £500,000 refurbishment of the toilet facilities in the main exhibition space;
- Removal of cobbles at main venue access points and replacement with smooth paving;
- The installation of highlighted nosing and additional handrails to external steps and ramped access points;
- The installation of Deaf Alerter, the radio-based fire alarm warning and messaging system. To find out more see www.deafalerter.com
- A programme of training for all staff in disability awareness
